Cold pressed coconut oil is an edible and external application oil with lot of health benefits. Cold pressed coconut oil is extracted from wood GANUGA from the meat of the mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm without heat and chemicals.

Cold pressed coconut oil is one of the most concentrated energy sources; 100 g of oil contains 884 calories. Being high in saturated fats, it is one of the stable vegetable cooking oils with a very long shelf life. Its high smoke point temperature of 232 (450 F) degrees allows food to fry. Cold pressed coconut oil fatty acid profile makes it one of the most widely discussed edible oils with respect to health benefits. Cold pressed coconut oil is composed of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids (SFA: MUFA: PUFA) in a ratio of 86.5: 5.8: 1.8 fats. A significant portion of its saturated fats, however, belong to the group of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs ranging from 6 to 12 carbon atoms). The main MCTs in this oil are lauric acid (C-12), capric acid (C-10), caprylic acid (C-8) and caproic acid (C-6). Together, they make up about 68% of the total saturated fat content and 59% of the total fat content.

Lauric acid, being a saturated fat with 12 carbon atoms, accounts for most of the MCTs. 100 g of fresh Cold pressed coconut oil contains 44.6 g of lauric acid, constituting more than 45% of the total fat content. In the intestine, lauric acid and other MCTs are absorbed directly into the bloodstream without any barriers and thus save energy and induce an early feeling of satiety. In addition, MCTs help increase blood HDL or good cholesterol levels in the blood.
